Color me rad locations12/26/2023 ![]() ![]() So I registered him at packet pickup, and was assured by the girl at the desk that it was going to be a blast - more like a party than anything else. At the last minute, I convinced my "significant other" to join me and our son for the race. 10 of your registration fees will also be donated to the Y Color Me Rad needs our help to fill volunteer opportunities to support the race. So I figured, I'll just bring my son in the jogging stroller and we will have a great time. Okay, I figured it wouldn't be too bad, but I couldn't get anyone to sign up with me. Of course, I bought it, then found out that it was not IN the stadium at all - just the parking lot. So, when I saw the Groupon for the Color Me Rad run at MetLife Stadium, I couldn't pass it up. At least, that is what EVERY photo I have ever seen had led me to believe. You wear white, get colorful, listen to music, and have a generally great time. Not painting, just walking in the door to have a piece of cake with the kids. This place CHARGED for people walking in the door. Basically, you run (or walk) and untimed 5K (which is 3.1 miles) and get hit with colors in a powder or liquid form throughout the course. 1 review of Color Me Rad Joplin 'Went to a birthday party there. Now, some people don't know what this is. Granted, this is done on an industrial scale but it's all very safe and edible.Ever since they've been popping up everywhere, I have wanted to do a "color" run. Run with us and get ready to run FOR something, instead of from something. The colors are made of good old fashioned corn starch and dyed with food coloring. Then, as runners cross the finish line, they all receive their own bag of color to participate in the Finale Color Throw as a group. At several places around the course, we build Color Stations where volunteers throw, spray or otherwise cover our runners in color. The colors are launched onto runners by an amazing corps of volunteers that we call the Color Bomb Squad. Color Me Rad was founded in 2012 by the same team, and has events. How do the colors work? What are they made of? The Dirty Dash has more than 200,000 runners in 15 locations across the U.S. We started with 35 events in our first year (2012), and grew to over 100 events in 20. If the weather is deemed dangerous by the event director or local authorities, we will email you with cancellation or postponement details. They did not alert us of the date change however. ![]() BUT For more critical weather concerns (tornados, flooding, etc), check your location's Facebook event page for the most up-to-date information. Color Me Rad refunded the full amount for a participant that was not able to attend the race AFTER CMR changed the date of the event 3 weeks before the race. Your trust is our top concern, so businesses cant pay to alter or remove their reviews. Rain just brightens the colors We are a rain or shine event. We were already in the business of organizing 5k fun runs - The Dirty Dash - and saw the flying colors of the Holi festival as something many people would enjoy. Yelp users haven’t asked any questions yet about Color Me Rad. The company founders and I attended the Festival of Colors at the local Hare Krishna temple over the course of our college years, and watched as it grew from 8,000 attendees to close to 80,000 attendees in just a few short years. ![]() It started in Utah, where, despite the predominantly Mormon population, one of the largest Holi Festivals in US takes place. The founding legend of Color Me Rad is, I think, a pretty cool story. Tell me a little bit about how Color Me Rad got started. I wanted to learn more about the race and how it works, so I reached out to Wyatt Grow, one of the organizers of the event, with a few questions.
